Mallika Sherawat has been roped in by K C Bokadia to play the lead role in his next, Dirty Politics. “Mallika plays the role of Anokhi Devi in the movie, who, besides being a stage-dancer, is also a politician in the movie,” Bokadia tells us. Ask him if her role has any semblance to that ofBhanwari Devi and her murder case and he says, “I am making a commercial film for the junta and there is no relation to Bhanwari Devi, but all I can say is that I read news and even I can be inspired from something.” And what is interesting is that Bokadia is going to shoot the dance sequences amid a crowd of 50,000-plus people. “I will shoot her dance sequences as a live performance by putting up a stage in the middle of a village in Rajasthan and capturing it while she performs live in front of the audience” says the director. And for all you know, this role might change Mallika’s image in the industry as Bokadia says, “She is a stage-dancer in the movie but no seductress”. The movie stars Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, and Ashutosh Rana, among others.
