Couple adopts abandoned child

The Chhipa Welfare Association (CWA) handed over an `abandoned new-born’ baby to a couple for adoption. This was stated by the chief of the CWA, Ramzan Chhipa, here on Sunday. He said the new-born baby girl was found in the Chhipa cradle and was immediately taken to the hospital for emergency care. Upon recovery, the baby was handed over to a couple, Muhammad Adil and his wife Humera, who had already applied for adoption. The adopted baby was named as Ayesha, it was further stated. A ceremony of adopting the child was performed at the hospital. The CWA had already delivered a good number of unwanted children to the couples after taking the unwanted children into the custody from the Chhipa cradles. On the occasion, traditional sweets were distributed among the people. “Ramzan Chhipa” presented a flower bouquet to the couple that adopted the child and took oath from them that they would spare no effort in rearing the adopted child as their own and would provide him best opportunities for the recreation, education and training in all fields of life.

Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul- Haq on Sunday inaugurated a repaired and renovated Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Community Primary School in village Dudu Kalhoro in Tehsil Meher. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the present government is taking steps for the promotion of education. He stated that in this regard steps are being taken in accordance with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Pir Mazhar said that besides construction of primary and high schools in the far flung areas of Sindh. He stated that degree colleges would be established in the talukas in the province where such a facility does not exist. The Minister said that construction of 78 degree colleges in the interior of Sindh is included in the current year’s annual development plan. He stated that facilities for acquisition of higher education would be extended in the interior of Sindh also.
