Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday condemned the brutal incidents of sectarian killings, saying religious extremism was part of a “vicious conspiracy against Islam and Pakistan.” He was having a telephonic chat with prominent Sunni leaders, including Tanvirul Haque Thanvi, Asad Deobandi and Dr Jameel Rathore. He urged the religious leaders from all schools of thought to play their full role against the conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan. He also asked the clerics to issue a unanimous fatwa against the killings of innocent people because of sectarian differences. The ulema condemned the attacks against people belonging to the Shia community. They praised the MQM chief for raising voice against the barbaric killings.

  1. We have to keep in mind that almost 20% of Pakistan population is Shia, and if this sectarian hatred and killing is not prevented at this level, no body will be safe later on.

It is not the teaching of any school of Islam to consider Shia's as Kafir or to kill them base on their belief, although the different expect of history exist since more than 1400 years. In the same manner, Shia community is obligated to play a positive role in the unity of muslim ummah. We need to learn Islam and follow the teachings of Islam.
