Rainwater submerges different areas of twin cities

Rainwater accumulation on roads, especially under the Faizabad flyover and residential areas, has been witnessed in various localities of the twin cities and are causing immense problems to motorists and residents.
Water accumulated under the flyover at Faizabad after a heavy downpour in the twin cities which contributed to traffic jams on Murree Road.
The present spell of rain washed away all official claims of concrete preparations to drain out rainwater from roads and residential areas, and had exposed the poor performance of authorities concerned.
A similar situation was observed at the airport road after the heavy downpour.
Many parts of the garrison city including Chongi No 22, Arya Mohalla, Rata Amral, Javid Colony, Pirwadhai, Dhok Saidain, Multani Mohalla, Pindora Chongi and Tench Bhatta Abadi No 2 were submerged in rainwater owing to the blockage of sewerage lines.
