A road recently carpeted at the cost of Rs150 million from Rehmanabad to Holy Family Hospital has been damaged at various points and can contribute to fatal road accidents.
While talking to agencies, residents of the Satellite Town blamed the authorities for slacking and added that the uneven level of the road and the use of substandard construction material had led to the dilapidated condition of the road due to the accumulation of rain water at various points.
They said that open manholes on the road could be truly termed as death holes as accidents had become a routine during night time
They further said that the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Hanif Abbassi was located on the same road but he also failed to pay any heed to the problem.
Residents demanded from Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the issue and punish the culprits responsible for the negligence.
