Dismissing doubts about his party’s resolve against US drone strikes, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Saturday that his party was determined to hold a long march towards Waziristan to protest against the attacks on Pakistani territory. “We are expecting over 100,000 participants in the march and Tehreek-e-Insaf is fully determined to hold the long march,” he said while addressing a press conference after meeting several delegations from Waziristan. “We just have to determine the dates for the long march, and today’s meeting with tribal delegations is a step in this regard,” he added.

On Friday, a news agency claimed that the PTI had cancelled its march towards North Waziristan, that the march would now be headed to South Waziristan. Without referring to North or South Waziristan, Imran told reporters that the detailed route and logistical plan was being prepared for the march. “The tribesmen will themselves arrange security for the participants,” he said, adding that no other party could dare going to that area.

  1. Wait till the army persuades IK not to proceed with the march…as PA is about to lauch an attack on NWA soon(atleast thats what we are told)! And you wouldnt want a nuisance like IK launcing tsunamis in or near the tribal territories!

  2. Imran Khan is a man with determination. He must march to Waziristan and stay there till Americans are forced to stop drone attacks. Retreat will amount to surrender.

  3. I am really impressed by all compliments being paid to the LEADER IMRAN and prayers for his save return. May i please ask how many of you are prepared to accompany him.?
When push comes to shove we shout from a safe distance.
Imran finds himself between a rock and hard surface. If he does not go he is a coward —if he goes he will be accused of not going all the way. Leadership does not depend on his going to other parts of Pakistan but unfortunately in this instance it has become the " litmus test ' which is totally unnecessary. The nation is holding it's breath.
