High alert was declared against dengue virus through out Punjab province on Sunday as most of the Punjab govt. departments were functional and the offices remained opened as the anti dengue campaign.
DCO Chakwal Ahmed Aziz Tarar paid a surprise visit to the govt. buildings and inspected the rooftops of the buildings. He further said that all the govt. departments have been mobilized and with the co-operation of the people of district Chakwal, cleanliness drive and spray campaign have been started.
DCO appealed to the people that they must ensure that the rainy water should not be stored at their houses. He also appealed that the people should point out the inadequate arrangements of cleanliness and especially the places of dengue mosquitoes where it is likely to be emerged must be informed.
It is worth mentioning here that in 2010 of this season, more than 60 persons were died and thousands of people were affected from the dengue virus in district Chakwal.
The local health department claimed that so for no dengue patient was reported in district Chakwal but there was every fear that Chakwal district would be on hit list of dengue virus if some proper arrangements and measurements were not adopted.
