Pakistan will help Kashmiris in every problem: Kaira

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that government of Pakistan and government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will play its role in rehabilitation of Kashmiri affectees of recent rainfall.
Addressing a press conference in Prime Minister’s Secretariat Muzaffarabad accompanied by Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and Prime Minister Chaudhary Abdul Majeed, Qamar Zaman Kaira said the government would help Kashmiris in every difficulty. He also urged the opposition, media and civil society to contribute in this regard.
He said the government of Pakistan People’s Party was taking practical steps in order to deal with natural disasters.
Answering to a question, the federal information minister said the infrastructure of Azad Kashmir has been affected by recent downpour in addition to economic and life losses.
He stressed upon broadening the streams in order to alleviate the loss caused by floods.
He also asked for the help of all political parties to play their part in reconstruction of the affected areas.
He said work on hydel power projects has been accelerated in order to control energy crisis.
To another question, he said if India starts a hydel project sidelining the already set formula, Pakistan would definitely go to the International Court of Justice.
He said efforts were being made to promote tourism in Azad Kashmir, which will further better the regional economy.
He observed Pakistan will continue the moral, political and diplomatic support of Kashmiris and it is evident that they will see the dawn of independence.
Replying to a question, he claimed that after the approval of mega development projects, the next ten years would welcome revolutionary progress in Azad Kashmir, adding that raising the living standard of people and ending unemployment are the preferences of the PPP-led government.
He said the PPP-led Pakistani government was continuing the policy of reconciliation implementing the philosophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and the government of Azad Kashmir is following suit.
He said the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir should allocate budget for AJK Television, as it will lead to spreading of the freedom movement of Kashmiris on world level.
