Border guards arrested six Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to sneak into the country from India, officials said on Friday. According to the Pakistan Rangers, the Bangladeshis were arrested while attempting to cross the border in Narowal area. An official claimed the Bangladeshis, in their thirties, tried to enter into Pakistani territory “in connivance with the Border Security Force”. A Pakistan Rangers spokesman told PTI that incidents of illegal border crossing from the Indian side had witnessed a “sharp increase” in the past few months. “The arrested Bangladeshi nationals entered here for spying, smuggling and terrorism,” he claimed, adding that attempts to infiltrate the border were usually made a few hours after the BSF fired at the Rangers posts in Sialkot and Wagah sectors.
