Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have agreed on the new Municipal system, however, the deadlock between both the parties on the transfer of provincial departments on lower level continued.
A meeting of the core committees of PPP and MQM was held in the CM House Karachi on Thursday. Agha Siraj Durrani, Pir Mazharul Haq, Rafiq Engineer, Murad Ali Shah, Farooq Sattar, Wasay Jaleel, Kanwar Naveed and Syed Sardar Ahmed attended the meeting.
While talking to media at the end of the meeting, Provincial Minister Agha Siraj Durrani said that there was a conflict regarding the transfer of provincial powers. However, he said that the issue would soon be resolved by the collaboration of governor Sindh and CM Sindh on the directions of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Durrani told that the new Municipal system had been finalized. He said that police, revenue, health, education, agriculture and other departments could not be given under the municipal institutions which constituted the bone of conflict between both the parties.
He hoped that the issue would be resolved with a consensus between the PPP and MQM as both the parties were busy for the development of Sindh.
