Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered the Ministry of Religious Affairs to allot Haj tour operators who have paid their taxes to be allotted their respective quotas.
The LHC made this decision while hearing the petitions filed by private tour operators Imran and Sohail.
The petitioners pleaded before the court that despite the payment of taxes they were listed as defaulters and have not been granted the quota.
The LHC directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs secretary to grant quotas to the tour operators who have paid the taxes and remove the names of the defaulters from the quota list.
Earlier, the court had directed the ministry to divide a quota of 3000 Haj pilgrims amongst the 100 registered private Haj tour operators who pay their taxes on time.
