Afghan President Hamid Karzai telephoned Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday and extended Eid greetings. Both leaders reiterated their resolve to work for peace and stability in the region. Pervez told Karzai that his government was firmly committed to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan. He thanked the Afghan President for his call and extended Eid greetings to him. He also conveyed his government’s desire to further strengthen their existing brotherly relations. Emphasizing enhanced interaction between the two countries in days to come, Pervez said he was looking forward to meeting Karzai in the near future.
