Inter-faith Ulema council to be set up for religious harmony: Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the government is going to constitute inter-faith council to create religious harmony in the country.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan, he said the council will comprise of Ulema of all religious sections and its chairmanship will be rotated among them after every three months.
He further added that an inter-faith conference at national level is also being held on August 30, to discuss as to how sectarian harmony can be promoted in the country.
He appealed to the people of the country to get united to foil nefarious designs of enemy who want to create instability in the country through subversive acts.
Replying to a question about law and order situation in Balochistan, Interior Minister Rehman Malik offered Baloch nationalist leaders to come to dialogue with the government for addressing the issues of Baloch people.
He also asked self-exiled Baloch nationalist leaders to return to Balochistan for helping Baloch people to resolve their problems while remaining among them.
He said they can make Pakistan especially Balochistan the most prosperous area of the world with unity, peace and stability.

  1. TTP scums consider entire Pakistan as murtids (infidels). How any inter faith understanding is gonna effect them. Stupid Malik

  2. Include each and everyone from all faiths including minorities in this council and it should only be practical not just another council for heft pay packets with no outcome!

  3. All this will be lip service because many previous councils could do nothing. Sir, why don't you straight away send those whom all know including the government to Jail. Those who are heading these organizations are known so why not simply close their seminaries. Unless perpetrators are not punished and visibly seen convicted there will be nothing but more killings. You have to change blasphemy laws to meet international standards and also stop publication of hate material between different Muslim Sects.
