CM to check target killing, kidnapping and extortion

CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Bilawal House on Thursday and briefed him about the law and order situation in Sindh, particularly of Karachi. Sources said the president directed the CM to take effective steps to control incidents of target killings and kidnapping for ransom and extortion. He said elements behind these incidents must be apprehended and given exemplary punishment. The president said the government was committed to provide security to the citizens and would take all possible measures for the fulfillment of this purpose.

Legislation in Sindh Assembly and coalition matters came under discussion during the meeting. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present in the meeting. Chairman Investment Board Salim Mandviwala also called on president. Investment in energy and infrastructure sectors was reviewed during the meeting.
