PM, first lady celebrate Eid with orphans

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and first lady Begum Nusrat Pervez spent the Eid day with orphan children of Sweet Home orphanage and made it a day for them to remember.
The children hailing from various agencies of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Dera Bugti, Kashmir and other areas of the country, a bit shy, but still confident shook hands with the first lady and the prime minister and exchanged Eid greetings.
The prime minister asked their names, appreciated their manners and urged them to study hard. He wished the children well, saying that with proper grooming and education, they would bring laurels to the country in every field.
The Prime Minister noted that all the young children, well-dressed in the traditional shalwar-kameez in different colours and black sandals, well groomed and sharp and responded positively to his questions.
“We have high hopes from you as you are our future,” he told the children, beaming with joy, as they got a gift and the Eidee from him and the first lady.
Begum Nusrat Pervez at a recent function had promised the kids a special Eid at the Prime Minister’s House and she fulfilled the promise by inviting them.
The prime minister, the first lady and their daughter along with her kids also had a photograph with the children.
Chairman Baitul Maal Zamurrad Khan said that he was proud to have initiated the Sweet Home project that accommodated around 3,000 orphan children of 4 to 6 years old. He said that the children were provided a respectable home-like environment, and groomed to be productive citizens of the country.
The young children were later offered sweets, samosas, cakes,
patties and drinks.
