The Interior Ministry has rejected the notion of immediately closing down any prepaid services by mobile phone companies.
Sources said that a regular meeting would be held between all stakeholders for evolving a regular plan including a phase wise closure of pre-paid services.
The proposed meeting would include participation from officials of police, interior ministry, intelligence agencies, PTA and mobile companies.
It is pertinent to note that interior minister Rehman Malik had already expressed grave concern on the possibility of mobile phone SIMS being used for subversive actions.
