After imposing ban on pillion riding and Mobile services, the government on the second day of the Eid had ordered provinces to evacuate all parks and other entertainment places before the scheduled time.
In an act of taking away another source of enjoyment from the people, the government had directed all the provinces to evacuate parks and other recreational places till 10pm due to security threat conveyed by the interior ministry.
Commissioner Karachi Roshan Shiekh, however, rejected the news and said that the parks would be closed at their regular time. He also maintained that the government had not directed park administrations to close at 10pm.
The evacuation of people from the public places at a similar time caused traffic jams on the roads. The areas which were badly affected included Shahra-e-Faisal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University road, Numaish Chowrangi, Clifton, Defence, Sea View, Shahra-e-Pakistan, Water Pump, Liquatabad No 10 and others.
