CDA chief hails performance of sanitation staff on Eid days

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal has said that the workers of the sanitation directorate have done tremendous job on Eidul Fitr to provide clean environment to the residents of Islamabad.
Lauding the performance of the sanitation staff, the CDA chairman said that despite Eidul Fitr which is our religious festivity, the workers of the sanitation directorate remained on duty to ensure cleanliness in the federal capital throughout the city.
He said that 2,500 sanitation workers, including officers, officials, supervisory staff and sweepers were called for special duty during Eidul Fitr days for cleanliness of the city.
He said that he had already directed the Flood Relief Cell of the CDA and other formations of the authority to remain alert for provision of basic civic amenities to the citizens of the city on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. He added that the authority had given special concession for establishment of stalls in front of shops in the markets to facilitate the general public for Eid shopping, however, as the cerebrations of Eidul Fitr are over, the CDA will launch a special operation against the encroachments around the city with the cooperation of the traders’ associations in markets and trade centres in the city.
