108 bottles of liquor, arms seized

Islamabad Police have arrested six persons from various areas of the city and recovered 108 bottles of wine and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. According to details, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal from Ramana police apprehended Nazir Masih and recovered 50 bottles of wine from him.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghulam Rasool from Loi Bher police arrested Imtiaz Ahmed for possessing two bottles of wine while Margallah police arrested Samin Iqbal Masih and recovered two bottles of wine from his possession.
Likewise, ASI Mansoor Ahmed from Bani Gala police arrested Waqas and Tayyab Basheer for having 29 bottles of liquor while 25 additional wine bottles were also seized from their accomplice Ibrar, who escaped after seeing the raiding police team. SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq had appreciated the overall performance of the police force and directed all police officials to maintain high vigilance in the city to curb the activities of anti-social elements.
20 lawbreakers arrested:
Rawalpindi police in their ongoing drive against antisocial elements arrested 20 lawbreakers, including six gamblers and one drunkard, from different areas of the district during Eidul Fitr holidays. The police recovered six gallons and 263 bottles of liquor, three 30-bore pistols with 13 rounds and one dagger.
Meanwhile, Waris Khan police arrested Jamil on the recovery of four gallons of liquor. Bashir was held with two gallons of liquor. Another accused, Khurram, was arrested with 200 bottles of liquor. Waris Khan police sent Irfan behind the bars as he was held with five bottles of liquor. Peerwadhai police also recovered 40 bottles of liquor. Ali, Saif, Imran, Waseem, Riasat, Zaheer, Gultasab and Zafar were sent behind the bars on the recovery of liquor and illegal weapons from their possession. New Town police arrested Bashir as he was under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, Sadiqabad police, acting on a tip off, conducted a raid and nabbed six gamblers.
According to details, on an information Sadiqabad police raided in Khurram Colony and caught six gamblers, Abdul Quddoos, Munir, Syed Muhammad, Daood, Ghazali and Abdul Qayyum red-handed for being involved in gambling and recovered Rs 23,790 stake money with six mobile phones and other gadgets from them.
