Even though fuel was very recently reserved for passengers traveling via train during Eid holidays, the travelers still faced trouble getting to their destinations as there was a severe shortage of bogies because of the great number of people traveling between cities. A passenger Khalid said that only two trains are available for Narowal section in the evening and he had to wait for several hours as no other means of transport is available to his area. He said that during regular days 20 trains are functional on the route but the present administration had shut down several trains one by one on because of several issues and the trains had not resumed service even though the issues had been fixed. Another passenger Sajid said that he had intended to travel with his family but the delay in the arrival of trains had caused him great inconvenience, adding that he had had to wait for his rain for over seven hours since it was delayed from Karachi. He said shortage of passenger coaches during the Eid days has been a great problem and that women and children had to travel without seats and sometimes in the doors of the train which can easily result in an serious accident. Daily Passengers Association President Ch A Majid said that officers had been requested several times to make proper arrangements but these requests had fallen on deaf ears.
