Law enforcement agencies have claimed making major progress while probing the terrorist attack on Kamra’s Minhas Air Base, saying four suspected militants were arrested from Taxila on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) probe committee led by Air Marshal Athar Bukhari is taking stock of various aspects of the attack. The committee recorded the statements of several officers and soldiers present on the base at the time of the attack.
The law enforcing agencies including police, in light of the reports, launched a joint operation in various areas of Taxila, and arrested four suspects, who have been shifted to an undisclosed location.
Four of the terrorists who attacked the air base, have already been identified. The preliminary investigations found that the terrorists had links with militants from the North Waziristan Agency.
Nine terrorists stormed into Kamra air base in the wee hours of Thursday. Springing into action, the commandoes of the Pakistan Army and the PAF launched a joint operation against the terrorists, who were all killed. Two security men embraced martyrdom during the operation.
