Altaf requested intellectuals, columnists and various political, religious and social leaders to address these issues faced by the country.
Members of the MQM have been meeting representatives of different political parties in an effort to hold a roundtable conference on the abysmal state of national security, featuring all stakeholders – including military leadership, religious and political leaders and intellectuals.
They had also met President Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi, the Jamaat-e-Islami in Lahore and the Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid in Islamabad in July for this purpose.
