The management of the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti on Friday received the donation of $ one million as announced by president Asif Ali Zardari during his visit to the Shrine.
A three-hour-long, closed-door meeting between delegates from the Pakistan High Commission, members of Anjuman Syed Zadgan, members of Anjuman Yadgar and those of the Dargah Committee resolved what an elaborate ceremony planned earlier in the evening could not, because of internal differences and financial issues between Anjuman Syed Zadgan, Anjuman Yadgar and Dargah committee. .
The Anjuman Syed Zadgan, an organization of khadims (priests) of the Dargah, has been at logger heads with the Dargah committee, constituted by ministry of minority affairs, on who is the rightful owner of the money.
Earlier, the Anjuman was to be given Rs 1.5 crore as proposed by the delegation of the Pakistan embassy while the rest was to go to the Dargah committee. “The money that was announced by the Pakistan president is for the Anjuman and no distribution is acceptable,” said Syed Wahid Angara, secretary of Anjuman during the ceremony. He had said that as per the ritual of the Dargah, the money which is given as Nazarana (gift) goes only to Khadim or to Anjuman committee. The matter got resolved with a closed-door meeting with the delegates.

Where is the money coming from? If its coming from Zardari then thats fine(but where did he get the money from?) and if its coming from the govt, then the question arises-why is money that has been borrowed(because the govt is bankrupt) been used for personal religious preferences and used on the poor people of Pakistan?

He went their on his own with his offspring.He should reimburse this money back to the people of Pakistan.He has no right to squander national wealth for his personal misuse.None of the socalled political persons (I do not consider them leaders) had the audecity to point this out.Yet they expect us to vote for them?

Visiting Ajmeer shareef was not part of his official tour yet he had the audacity to give this donation from tax payers money….he shud re- imburse same….if he cud donate million dollar to Ajmeer shareef, why he did not do same to pay to Somalian pirates to save our Pakistani crew members who were kept hostage for 2 years before being released after Mr Zardari requested Mr Riaz Malik to pay Rs13 crore ( less than a million dollar of course )….
