Two patients were admitted to the Mayo Hospital on Thursday night while District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorullah Mengal has said that the Punjab government has stepped up its efforts to control the spread of dengue virus across the province and that the situation is under control.
Talking to a private TV channel, Mengal said that all resources and facilities are in place to launch anti-dengue operations.
He said that required spray and fumigation machines have been handed over to the concerned departments.
He added negligence will not be tolerated in the efforts to contain dengue virus. Moreover, he said that in case any dengue case is detected, the town officer of the area will be held responsible.
Despite these arrangements, 4 to 5 cases of dengue have been reported across the province, including a Chinese citizen who had arrived in Lahore via Bangladesh.
