UN leader Ban Ki-moon was “appalled” by the sectarian killing of 20 Shiite Muslims who were dragged off a bus in Pakistan on Thursday, his spokesman said.
“The secretary general expresses his outrage over such deliberate attacks on people due to their religious beliefs in Pakistan,” said a statement released by UN spokesman Martin Nesirky which strongly condemned the attack.
Gunmen dragged the Shiite travellers off a bus in the northwestern district of Mansehra and killed them at point blank range, officials said. It was the third attack of its kind in six months.
Height of hypocrisy. Where the F.#..#k he is when muslims killing is done in india palistine burma.
pehlay apna ghar to saaf kar lo Raja sb! baad main fiker karna India, Palistine and Burma ki
I want to ask him about the killing of Sikhs in US. He has not given any statement on that.
are u sad that he is concerned over killings of Pakistani Shia Muslims in Pakistan? it did happen, right? and if he is speaking on it then he is not wrong! he is right!
you people feel compassion for non-muslims while holding malice for your muslim brother just on the basis of your perception (which is only a perception having nothing to do with reality) that they practice and believe something which is not a part of your belief system.
dont you think its severe and sheer "hardheartedness" on your part
Just another loud mouth for US-Zionist policy.
Why loud mouth? didnt this incident happen in Pakistan? Is he making the story up? Didnt our Pakistani's kill all those Shia (as Mula's call them Kafir)? Why does he has loud mouth? you have sick teachings, sick believes, you follow sick people, you kill people and you say the one speaking on the issue has loud mouth?
@ Furqan Ali …….Read my comment again. Loud Mouth means "Spokesperson". If this guy is so concerned about human life, what makes him shut up over the Kashmiri Killings, The Killing of Muslims in Burma, The Plight of the Palestinians ……… No one can possibly approve of what happened in Kohistan yet when the UN speaks it has other connotations. Use your head please.
If he is not speaking abt Kashmiri killings or Burma Muslim Killings or Palestinians Killings, it is non of my concern. I first have to look and clean my homeland of these evils and if someone is speaking against the evil i am with him. I feel pity that you are more concerned about the killings of Muslims in other part of world thn your own home town or you believe that Shias are not Muslims?? No doubt that killing of Muslims in other countries is also wrong on every front but first things first. I suggest that we first clean our country thn talk abt the evils happening in other parts of the world.
"Apna ghar pehlay saaf kar lo, phir baat karna baki duniya ki"
Furqarn, in you other comment, you said apna ghar saaf karo, you are exactly right, its easy to point to others, Killing one is compare to killing all humanity, how you can say yourself muslim after killing others, if you wants to present yourself as good muslim, its through good deed, character and representation of faith, not force, force never prevailed and will not in future.
Its a shame it has taken UN so long to notice these atrocities against the Shia's – perhaps now that they have noticed it ,they will follow it up by keeping a close eye on the situation
Pakistan was created on religious divide though our founding father was not a practising muslim. When Zia came, he used the sacred name of Islam for his personal ulterior motives. He caused enormous damage. Terrorism and intolerance we see in our society stems from the ugly Zia regime. It is, indeed, shameful the way Shias are being massacred by terrorist bigots. Still, this despicable lot manages sympathy from many. If this state of affairs continue, it will prove only one point that a state based on religion or race leads to evil.
This is realy very dismal situation. Every times religious proponents of shiite sect are dragged out from buses and massacred, multilated and humiliated by agencies and indeginous opponent sects. This sectarian war can lead our nation to destruction and devastation. This a conspiracy of foriegn groups who are trying to destablize our country.
Time and again, this onslaught and killing of a particular group is maligning our riligion. Time is on ripe.
u.n is very keen on what goes around in Pakistan and other middle eastern countries. do we need to remind the u.n about the mass murders taking place in Israel formerly known as Palestine and Iraq. and how the support of rebels is getting people killed in Syria , Libya, and other African countries. Actually we cant remind them because that is approved by the U.N and they already know about it. Even though this was a shameful act the U.N should look under its own collar before talking/
Shame on Pakistani rulers, law enforcement agencies who are blindfolded on non stop shia killing. They will be accountable for this negligence very soon..
Shia Killing has always been on RISE ! Whole nation is protesting only for Muslims who are being killed in Burma. So where are “Burma Maniacs” now? Should we take it as those muslims who are killed in your own country on day to day bases are not Muslims? What can we expect from our nation. According to recent survey, 50% of Pakistanis consider Shia as a NON -MUSLIM.

We should condem suck killings of innocent people of North. I would like to request UN Security Council to handover KKH to UN troops from Islamabad up
to Gilgit.
U.N. Secretary General must be appreciated for noticing the killings of innocent people anywhere, by anyone in the world. This is also a tragic incident, so his "appalled" should be appreciated.
