The 4th Independence Day Sports Festival was organized in the stadium of American Lycetuff Schools & Colleges, Raiwind Road, Lahore on Tuesday by Sports Promotion Society & Prof. Faisal Fayyaz (International Gymnast & Project Manager of PUCIT) was chief Organizer of this event who managed & controlled this overall event.
This event was organized with the collaboration of Pakistan sports promoters (PSP), Punjab Aids Consortium (PAC), Pakistan Lions Youth Council (PLYC), sports promotion society (SPS) & Human Antinarcotics drugs society (HANDS Int’l). Inauguration ceremony was held at 8:00 AM while this moment Nadeem Afzal (Director, American Lycetuff) and Mian Umer Misbah-ur-Rehman (MPA-PPP), was chief guest.
At this moment, a fabulous colorful March past & aerobics demonstration was presented due to celebration of indepence day. This event comprised of Football, Cricket, Basketball, Athletics events, Gymkhana events, gymnastics & karate Display. The Guest of Honor was Ms. Yasmin Rehman (MNA-PPP) and Rohail Asghar (MNA-PMLN).
They distributed the prizes among the winners. M. Ali was declared the best Athlete of 4th independence day sports festival 2012 & special souvenir was given to Syed Taimoor ur Rahim, captain of Football Team. The efforts of Prof. Faisal Fayyaz were appreciated by students.
Chief Guests stated at this time that the value of games & sports cannot be underestimated in a society. According to Faisal Fayyaz, in stable and arrange societies great importance was attached to physical culture. Sports teach young men the value of discipline and co-operation. So a sort of broad-mindedness is created in the player which is a precious virtue. This is the only tool to keep the young generation in discipline, healthy & safe.
