Rules changed for birth, death certificates

Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal has issued a new notification regarding the new fee and fine structure for obtaining birthday and death certificates.
According to the agreement between National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and City District Government Lahore, no fee would be charged on either certificate if obtained within 60 days of death or birth of an individual.
It was also decided in the agreement that Rs 100 would be charged for computerized birthday certificate. The secretary of the concerned union council would get a bonus of Rs 10 out of the Rs 100 submitted as fee.
According to the notification, the late fines would be charged according to the number of days that have passed since a birth or death of an individual. Rs 50 would be charged after a period of 60 to 100 days, Rs 100 for 101 to 200 days, Rs 150 for 201 to 300 days and Rs 200 would be charged from there on.
It is worth mentioning here that NADRA would not take any share from the fine money and the amount would be directly transferred into union council accounts. The DCO directed all union council secretaries to follow the new notification.
