Pakistani scientist wins Young Scientist Award

University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) Assistant Professor Dr Amjad Riaz on Wednesday was received Young Scientist Award at International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR) 2012, held in Vancouver, Canada.
The award, held on competitive basis from developing countries, was given to Dr Amjad Riaz for his research on predicting buffalo ovarian reserves by ultra-sonography. This work could help establish Embryo Transfer Technology in buffalo.
Dr Amjad was a team member of the delegation of four Pakistani veterinarians and animal scientists led by Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, UVAS. More than 900 delegates from 62 different countries participated in the Congress. The ICAR has history of over 65 years and a meeting is held every four years to update and share knowledge and scientific information.
