One-wheelers, drug pushers, weapons, liquor seized

The police, under their ongoing drive against antisocial elements, arrested 34 lawbreakers, including 15 one-wheelers. The police recovered 2.045kg of charas, 11 bottles of liquor, five 30-bore pistols with 14 rounds and one rifle with 10 rounds from the possession of the arrested persons.
Waris Khan police, taking action against one-wheelers as well as rash and negligent driving, conducted raids at Committee Chowk, Murree Road on August 14 and held Ismail, Moais and Waqas. Sadiqabad police, under their operation against one-wheeling, netted Waqar and Zeeshan from Transformer Chowk. Similarly, Cantt police sent behind the bars seven one-wheelers, Ahsan, Hameed, Sajid, Amir, Zeeshan, Khayial and Riasat, while Airport police caught three motorcyclists, Husnain, Waheed and Aqeel for rash and negligent driving.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP), in a crackdown against traffic rules violators, one wheeling, negligent and dangerous driving on the Independence Day, impounded 403 motorcycles.
The traffic police also issued 510 challan tickets to motorcyclists for rash and negligent driving. The chief traffic officer (CTO) said that special teams were formed to launch a grand operation against one-wheelers on August 13 and 14. Traffic wardens were directed to impound motorcycles of one-wheelers and send them behind bars in their respective police stations.
Chief Traffic Officer Syed Ishtiaq Shah said that strict orders were issued to all the traffic wardens, inspectors, deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) of all sectors that no one should be spared and all the youngsters, particularly those found moving on the city roads on altered motorcycles especially prepared for one wheeling, should be impounded.
