Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan on Tuesday expressed resolve to ensure the elimination of ignorance, poverty, corruption and terrorism to maintain the blessing of independence, sovereignty geography and ideology.
He was addressing the national flag hoisting ceremony at the PA Secretariat to commemorate the 65th Independence Day on Tuesday.
The speaker said that all measures would be put in order for the prosperity of people and the promotion of education and brotherhood.
Iqbal said that Independence Day was actually the day of reiterating our resolve that we will spoil the sacrifices of our forefathers and we will leave no stone unturned in making Pakistan prosperous.
He said the entire nation needed to renew its pledge so that the geographical and ideological boundaries of Pakistan could be protected.
“We will also use all of our abilities to ensure prosperity, education, justice, peace and love,” he maintained.
He called upon the nation to transform Pakistan into what was envisioned by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and dreamt by Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Poet of the East.
The speaker said that Pakistan was faced with grave challenges and if unity was forged in the ranks of the nation, the problems could be dealt with in an effective way.
