The federal petroleum minister on Monday announced not to increase petroleum prices on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The POL prices are weekly reviewed in the country following a recent decision of the Federal Cabinet and an increase in the rates was likely this week.
However, Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Asim Hussain, announced today that neither the oil prices would go up nor load-shedding be carried out on three days of Eid-ul-Fitr likely to be celebrated across the country on Aug 20.
According to the reports, OGRA is expected to send a summary to the Petroleum ministry recommending a Rs 2 increase in the per litre price of petrol and Rs 4 per litre increase in diesel.
