Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal said on Friday that CDA had made comprehensive arrangements for celebrating the Independence Day in the federal capital and people from all backgrounds are being involved in these celebrations. CDA would organize a colorful event at Fatima Jinnah F-9 Park with a display of fireworks which is expected to be attended by hundreds of thousands of people from Islamabad and other areas of the country. Farkhand said that being the federal capital, Islamabad would lead the way in celebrating the national spirit with enthusiasm. He said that authorities concerned had arranged special gifts for children who would participate in the celebrations. He added that all major buildings would be illuminated on the occasion and the roads would be decorated with banners, streamers and national flags to show the unity of the nation. The chairman directed different departments to make elaborate arrangements to provide clean drinking water to people and maintain cleanliness at the event. He called on all relevant departments of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to coordinate with each other for the provision of excellent security.
