‘Kabul more important for Pakistan than Washington’

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Saturday that Kabul was more important for Pakistan than Washington.
In an interview to Arab TV channel, the foreign minister ascertained that the fate of Pakistan attached with Afghanistan being a neighbour and Pakistan always seeks friendly and close relations with its neighbouring polities.
Khar said that, anything which happens in Afghanistan directly influences affairs of Pakistan, adding that on daily basis at least 53,000 people travel on Pak-Afghan border.
She claimed, it is a fact that if Taliban come into power, it would not be in the best interest of Pakistan. She said the Afghan elders were well-aware of their interests in the region, adding, “We cannot dictate or inform them that what should be their interests.”
To a question regarding India, the minister expressed that the relations between Pakistan and India has improved and moreover the trust level has also developed between both the countries.

  1. Islamabad(to be more specific GHQ, Rawalpindi) should at least consider Kabul a capital rather than thinking that Afghanistan is sub teritory of Pakistan
