Pakistan Railways’ (PR) Karachi Division has warned that passengers traveling on tickets not issued in their own names would be treated as ticketless and charged with the actual fare along with penalty.
The warning came in as a set of guidelines issued on the directives of Divisional Superintendent Anzar Rizvi to facilitate the genuine passengers.
The DS Railway said that the step was taken as part of measures adopted to check black marketing of tickets.
He said that divisional commercial officers had been deputed to check passengers traveling without tickets or on tickets issued on fake names.
He said that strict checking in this regard would start from August 10 and would remain in practice till Eid.
