The early morning downpours lashed the city and its suburbs, inundating the low-lying areas and roads around the metropolis on Friday.
According to Meteorological Department, the city has up till now received 42 millimeters of rains with 10mm recorded in the Airport area.
The early morning showers brought about pleasing weather in the city and led to several roads to be submerged under water.
The water-locked Ferozpur Road, Jail Road and Canal Road witnessed the worst gridlocks.
The meteorological department forecast more showers in northern and central Punjab including Lahore during next 12 hours.
