Austin Sparks may not be a good criminal, but he shows signs of being a good human being. After breaking into five cars and stealing a Ford F-250 truck, Sparks, 20, felt so guilty about what he had done that he drove the stolen truck to police headquarters in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and turned himself in to authorities, UPI.com reported. “He walked in and told me that he had just stolen a car and it’s parked out front,” Kinnie Long, a clerk at the station told The Tennessean. “It was shocking. He even stated that he felt bad for what he had done.”
Sgt. Tyler Chandler not only appreciated Sparks’ honesty after the fact, but that he drove the truck to the station and parked it outside.
