ITP plans to facilitate Eid shoppers

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has constituted special teams with more than 100 cops to be deputed at busy shopping centres who would perform duties during the last ten days of Ramadan to ensure smooth traffic flow for Eid shoppers.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood has given the approval of plan devised to control traffic at busy shopping centers as well as markets during the last ten days of Ramadan. One ASP and three DSPs, 10 inspectors, 50 upper subordinates including sub-inspector and inspector and 35 other cops, including head constables and constables, have been assigned duties at busy shopping centres and markets.
A total of 12 vehicles and 10 motorbikes have been provided to special police teams which would perform duties at markets from 8: 30 pm to onward. Special deployment has been also made at Super market, Jinnah Super market, F-10 and G-10 Peshawar Morre, Karachi Company, Blue area, Aabpara Market, I-8 markaz and I-10 markaz. The SSP said this strength of 100 cops would be addition to those performing general duties and all zonal DSPs would brief their staff to ensure better output and convenience to citizens.
He also directed strict action against those transporters and drivers causing inconvenience for road users and said that citizens should be briefed politely about adopting traffic laws. “Misbehaviour with any of the citizen or motorist would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against zone in-charge and relevant officials in case of any complaint of highhandedness,” the SSP maintained.
The SSP (traffic) also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with traffic policemen as they will be serving at busy places for their convenience. He said that he would himself check duties and maximum efforts will be made to facilitate road users on this occasion.
