Forced migration must be checked: HRCP

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed concerns on the forced migration of religious minorities from Sindh and Balochistan.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Commission said some minorities in Sindh and Balochistan argue that interest groups are threatening them to leave Pakistan.
“Religious minorities’ continued migration from Sindh and Balochistan is a reflection of the state’s failure to save these citizens from violence, discrimination and disgusting excesses such as forced conversion of young women,” the report noted.
In addition, the live telecast of a recent conversion of a young Hindu man on television was a particularly reprehensible and indefensible manifestation of the attitude towards non-Muslims, HRCP’s report argued.
HRCP hopes that the government address, in consultation with the communities in question, the reasons forcing religious minorities to flee the country.
HRCP also urged civil society organisations and the media to keep the spotlight firm on the issues related to minority groups.

  1. HRCP was silent when it could have done something. Now it is closing the door after the horses have bolted.

    This HRCP is as good as nonexistent.

  3. Forced conversion is prohibited in Islam, in view of it, no any Muslim group or organization have made any efforts in this regard. If it has happened such group should be underlined by the victims but no any name is on the board. Its an attempt of the Minority to malign and defame Islam and Pakistan.

  4. PPP government is even forcing Majority muslims to leave the country. It is well planned strategy of this government to make life miserable of people who desire to have decent life style. This load shedding, creating unemployment, corruption, confrontation with judcial system is part of this well thought out plan. They want only those people in the country who will bow to them and then they can force them to vote for them. People if you want to have a decent life in future you must kickthem out other wise they will crush you to death.
