In-laws poisoned to death a woman for bearing third female child here late Wednesday night.
According to SP Investigation Athar Ismail, deceased Uzma hailing from Mohallah Bilal Town, Kamonki, district Gujranwala had two daughters. One Wednesday she gave birth to another daughter which infuriated her in-laws.
They physically tortured the lady and later poisoned her to death.
The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem after which it was handed over to heirs. Samples have been sent to laboratory to confirm the cause of the death.
The police registered a case against six nominated culprits and arrested one person identified as Muhammad Razzaq.
