Chairman Senate, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has proposed names of six senators to form a commission for establishment of new provinces in Punjab.
According to details, two names from Pakistan People’s Party, and one name each from Awami National Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) have been sent to National Assembly Secretariat.
The list has been proposed in view of respective party-positions in Senate.
Senator Farhatullah Babar, Senator Sughra Imam, Senator Haji Adeel, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Senator Rafiq are included in the proposed list.
It is worth mentioning here that the Punjab Assembly and National Assembly approved resolutions with ample majority for the establishment of two new provinces in Punjab.
Consequently, President Asif Ali Zardari directed Speaker National Assembly to organize a commission comprising six parliamentarians for establishing new provinces.
