The list has been proposed in view of respective party-positions in Senate.

  1. One benefit of this division would be that all provinces will have to renegotiate the most unfair water apportionment accord of 1991 for Punjab. Isn't strange a province with 77% irrigated is allocated 47.67 % of diverted water whereas Sindh having 14 % of irrigated area is given 41.55%. Punjab's allocation per person per year is down to 750m3 whereas Sindh gets more than 1600 m3/per person per year. If Karachi's population for not being part of the Indus Basin is separated, it almost doubles. So, let this commission to renegotiate this unsustainable agreement before going for such division to avoid another perpetual conflict in the country.

  2. It's not being done to benefit anyone but to serve short term political motives. Your question is superfluous. As usual.
