NATO containers cross Chaman border after 18 days

The supply to NATO forces in Afghanistan via Chaman border was restored on Wednesday after a break of 18 days. Soon after the restoration, the trucks started entering Afghanistan where Customs officials allowed entry after collecting taxes. Nangiali Faizi told APP that private companies, who were given contracts to deliver supplies to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, had paid Rs 80 million of customs to Afghan officials, who then allow the supply containers entry into Afghanistan via Chaman border gate. About 20 NATO containers had crossed into Afghanistan from the Pakistani side on Wednesday until the filing of this report.
