LUMS, Carnegie Mellon University, Disney Research, Pittsburgh are going to collaborate on a new way, which takes space and time into account simultaneously, to model dynamic objects used in computer-animated movies and games. This new method, if it works, can ‘greatly simplify’ the process of creating subtle movements such as expressions on faces, gesticulations on bodies and the draping of clothes. The group’s findings were presented at SIGGRAPH 2012.
