Like other parts of the city, illegal constructions over nullahs in Arya Mohallah, Javed Colony and Muslim Colony have decreased capacity of water flow, which could cause floods during rains.
The authorities concerned have turned a blind eye towards illegal constructions on nullahs in the localities as streets in Javed Colony, Muslim Colony and Arya Mohallah remained inundated with sewage and rainwater after the recent heavy rains.
The citizens said that corrupt officials of the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) encourage illegal constructions which lessen its water flow capacity, adding that in case of flooding only those who approved maps of these constructions will be responsible for floods.
