Vegetable prices decrease

Vegetable prices have decreased while the fruit prices remain high in Islamabad.
A rate list issued by the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) carries the new price list.
Presently, apples are being sold at Rs 60-120 per kilogram, bananas at Rs 50-130 per dozen, melons at Rs 40 per kg, water melon at Rs 25-40 per kg, mango at Rs 40-70 per kg, apricot at Rs 100 per kg, peach at Rs 50-100 and dates at Rs 150 to 250 per kg.
In comparison to fruits, the prices of vegetables decreased in the local market. Ridge gourd was sold at Rs 26 per kg, turnip at Rs 30 per kg, tomatoes at Rs 54 per kg, lady finger at Rs 24 per kg, potatoes at Rs 160 per five kilograms, bitter gourd at Rs 14 per kg, green peas at Rs 100 per kg, pumpkin at Rs 18 per kg and spinach (750 grams) at Rs 20 per kg respectively.
