Unknown armed men on Monday robbed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Sumaira Yasir of valuable items and money.
According to reports, MNA Sumaira Yasir was on her way to home with her husband when the armed riders intercepted them.
The robber snatched her hand bag, mobile phone, cash and valuable items and managed to flee from the spot.
However, it was yet to be ascertained as to how much money was looted.
Separately, gunmen opened fire on a private company manager on Monday.
Police said employees of a private company were transferring Rs 4 million cash of the firm in Shahm Nagar at Bilal Park area when three armed men in a car intercepted them and attempted to snatch the cash on gun point.
Officials said the robbers opened fire when the company manager Samdani Butt resisted their attempt. He was killed on the spot whereas the company cashier, Musharraf and a security guard, Zaman Shah, were injured.
Guard Zaman’s retaliatory fire killed one of the robbers.
DIG Operations Rai Muhammad Tahir said investigations are being carried out and that the dacoit has not yet been identified, adding that the dead bodies were shifted to civil hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Talking to the media, company owner Shakeel Butt expressed his grave concern over the security situation, saying that the company had experienced more than 20 robbery incidents over the past three months.
It must be noted that crime average and theft incidents are increasing in provincial capital day by day.
The government does not care neither does media. Media will protect the robbers if police even thinks about touching them.
