A MEPCO team, including SDO, MEPCO; line superintendent, two line-men and a driver were tortured by power stealing land owners in the village 169/10R. The line superintendent received severe injuries and was admitted to the district head quarter’s hospital in Khanewal. According to details a MEPCO team headed by SDO. Sana Ullah, including line superintendent Farrukh Naseer Sheikh, lineman Manzoor, assistant lineman, Imran and driver Shafqat on an official vehicle, went to the village 169/10R to raid a tube well belonging to Hashmat Jahan Begum. This farm was under the cultivating possession of Rana Ghulzar Ahamad s/o Abdul Gahaffar, they were caught utilizing electricity directly instead of through meter on their tube-well. When the MEPCO team began to disconnect the illegal connection, Rana Gulzar and his accomplices started torturing them with iron rods, hunters and other weapons. They stripped the line superintendent Farrukh naked, and seriously injured him. He was then shifted to the DHQ hospital in an unconscious state.
