Police arrested on Sunday members of an Inter-province gang of car lifters and recovered three stolen cars and fake identity cards of security agencies from their custody. Qazi Ahmed Police, acting on secret information, signaled three cars coming from Hyderabad to stop. The car drivers however increased the speed and crushed two pedestrians while managing to escape. Later, the police blocked the road and arrested 13 accused including five women identified as Hamid, Sheema Bibi, Najma, Mst Aamina, Asghar Ali, Ahmed Nawaz, Daniyal, Asif, Rafaqat Hussain, Abdul Khaliq, Shabana and Shamim. Police impounded three cars, recovered mobile phones and cash of Rs 48,000 from their custody. Police also recovered fake identity cards of law enforcing agencies from them. Station House Office Eidan Siyal told that police action was initiated on secret information while the criminals also tried to crush policemen under the wheels.
