USAID starts training linemen

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “Quick Impact Lineman Training Program” would train thousands of linemen in Pakistan. On an average, more than a 100 linemen meet fatal accidents every year in the absence of adequate training.
USAID’s Power Distribution Program has managed to train more than 600 linemen of DISCOs and has given away linemen safety training tools to the Regional Training Centers (RTC). Thousands more would receive training in the coming months.
Linemen Training Expert for the project, Robert Dalton said that USAID was committed to developing proper system for Pakistani linemen which would improve their safety and yield good results.
The United States Government, through this project, provides assistance and support to the Government of Pakistan to help them reform the power sector and cope with the energy crisis.
