The trade exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan have witnessed a 15% increase during the current Iranian year (started on March 20) compared with the same period last year, an Afghan trade official announced on Saturday. According to FNA dispatches, Head of the Industrialist Union of Afghanistan’s Western province of Harat Hamidallah Khadem made the announcement in an interview with Jomhor news agency. He further mentioned that the increase in the consulate services presented by Iran has encouraged Afghan traders to boost their trade exchanges with the Islamic Republic. Iranian Consul-General in Herat Rahim Mohammadi Yekta, for his part, voiced Iran’s willingness to purchase Afghanistan’s surplus production, including fruits as well as industrial products.
